Surgeon's Update
1:20 p.m.- The surgeon came and talked to Sarah and Jeremy and said that everything went really well and that he had no negative news to report. He did say that Damon's aorta was teeny tiny and took a little longer than normal to repair. He is in his room in the PICU now and will be recovering for about an hour and a half. Sarah said after his recovery time today that they would get to see him. The surgeon said that the next 2-3 days were very critical as they watch for any bleeding, but that he does not expect any complications. Sarah wanted me to tell you to please continue to pray, and they are very thankful to God for what he has brought Damon through today. They are also very thankful for all of you who have been prayer warriors for Damon!

We are praising God for the successful operation. I KNOW that this has been the longest day of your lives. We will continue to lift little Damon and his parents before the throne. You guys try to get some rest. You are in for a LONG journey - but one I know you can make. "Heart" hugs from Texas. Baby Cade's family - Teloa
A message from Munkin (Sarah's mom)
I don't think there are any words that can explain how Sarah, Jeremy, Jeremy's parents, and I felt last night when we left the hospital and then this morning when we saw Damon for the last time before surgery. Our precious little baby is supposed to have OPEN HEART SURGERY? !!!! We can't let that happen!!! I just wanted to kidnap him and tell him he didn't have to go through that... but I didn't, because without the surgery we know he would not live.
I have gone through some heart wrenching times with my children and each time you see them hurt it cuts you deeper inside. However, Sarah and Jeremy were very strong today and I am very proud of them. Damon needs parents like them to get through all this.
By the grace of God and with parents and family like his, he will.
We are praising the Lord for Damon and for his strength that helped him make it through the surgery. We know that God's hands are holding him and the next few days you will just see him get better and better. Give Myles a hug for us. We missed seeing his smiling face at church yesterday. Let us know if we can do anything to help you in anyway. We love you all, You continue to be in our prayers. --Darrel and Paula
Praise God that things went well. And thanks Lacey for the updates. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that it is much appreciated.
