STL Trip

Damon's follow up perfusion scan was scheduled this morning for Sept 4th, which is next Tuesday. It's a little sooner than I thought it would be, but it has to be done within 30 days of his appt yesterday and my schedule limited the days we could go. So we will be heading up there very early that morning. It should just be an in and out deal. Talk to you all later.

Dr appt

Damon had an appt w/ Dr Tong today. His sats were 92, that's right, I said 92. He was a very well behaved little boy today during his tests. His EKG and Echo both looked fine, although his narrow spot on his arota was a little narrower this time than last time. I think I've explained this before but the speed at which the blood flows thru that spot is called the gradiant. The lower the number the better because that means the spot is wider and the blood is moving slower. Last month the number is 25, this month it is 30 and if my memory serves me right it has been going up since after his surgery. Dr Tong isn't worried about it right now but he did ask me if he has shown any signs of having trouble breathing or anything like that and he hasn't, but I'm going to be watching him more closely now. I don't want to take another airplane ride...

Dr Tong is going to send an order up to SLCH for his follow up perfusion scan so he will be going up there in the next month to have that done. It should just be a one day deal, we go up there for the test and come home right after it's over, unless the test shows bad results and they want us to stay, but we are just going to trust God that that isn't going to happen. I feel in my heart that this test will be fine.

He weighs 16lbs and is 27 1/4 in long. He has three teeth and the 4th is going to pop thru any minute. That's all for now, talk to you all later.

Going On

Here's what's going on around our house. We are still remodeling our office. It is ready to paint so we will be completeting that by this weekend. Carpet layers are coming this week to measure for the carpet. Some people came by tonight to look at Jeremy's truck and they said they really like it and they're going to the bank in the morning. I don't want to get my hopes up to much, but it would be a huge blessing and help to us if they bought it. Myles started school last Friday and he loved it. He has asked every morning since then if he is going to school today. He goes on Wednesday's and Friday's. Damon has another tooth, which explains his cranky-ness last week. It's an eye tooth on the top. He was so cute today, we played in his room with this big ball and we were all rolling it around on the floor. His hands and feet were going crazy. We also were dancing together this morning and he was cracking up. He is so close to being out of his medicine and it comes from Springfield so we're making an unplanned trip up there tomorrow. Normally we get it on days he has Dr Tong appts but this time for some reason, we ran out early. I am still getting over my cold. My cough drys up at night, but in the morning it is really wet and my nose is runny and my ears are all stopped up. But I feel a lot better. So that's what's going on. Talk to you all later.

9 months

I can't believe that Damon will be 9 months old tomorrow. Then in 3 more months he will be a year. It has gone by so fast. His temper is starting to show itself too. If he doesn't like something, you know he doesn't like it.

I am still not feeling all that great but my cold is getting better. Please continue to pray for me for complete healing from this and for my ears to clear up. It's so annoying not being able to hear!

Myles starts preschool on Friday. We went to visit his class on Monday and it looks like so much fun. He didn't want to go in at first but then when it was time to leave he cried because he didn't want to go. I know he will love it. It's kind of strange for me because I've been with him for every thing else he's done and now he's going to be going off to school without me and I feel like I should be there but I'm not invited. Probably all mom's feel this way I guess.

Something funny happened yesterday. I left Damon on my bed while I was getting the house ready to vaccuum. Myles went and got a pop tart to snack on and I told him he could eat it on my bed (my mistake). So I was in Damon's room, which is right across the hall from our room, and I hear Myles scream. I ran in there and the first thing I see is Damon with a big piece of poptart in his mouth! He had reached behind him and got ahold of it and was going to eat as much as he could before he got caught. I took it away from him, which made him mad, and gave it back to Myles and got him settled down. It was so cute. Damon had strawberry jelly on his mouth and he looked so cute. Talk to you later.

Weekend

Jeremy made it home safely early Saturday morning. Thanks for your prayers for him. My cold has turned into pretty much the worst one I've ever had. My head is so clogged up, especially my right ear and it's hurting pretty bad. I have two prescriptions that the dr called in for me but they both make me really dizzy and tired so I've been trying to rest as much as possible. My throat is really hoarse so it's hard to talk too. I'm a mess. Please pray for me.

Damon can hold himself up on his arms now when you put him on his stomach. I was worried that he might not ever crawl and have a hard time learning to pull/walk because he hates being on his stomach so much, but I think he just needed a little time. It's still not his favorite thing but he's doing so much better. Also, we've been trying to get him to drink out of a sippy cup and he doesn't care much for it and it's really frustrating.

Myles starts pre-school on Friday. Pray that he will go right in and not cry. Is anybody reading this? We have never had many comments from people and right now in Damon's life there really isn't a whole lot medically going on so I just wonder if I'm typing this for myself... Let us know if you are still out there. Talk to you later.

Tomorrow

I'm sure you've seen the commercials the past couple of days about tomorrow being "Miracle Treat Day" at Dairy Queen. Tomorrow if you go to participating Dairy Queen's and order a Blizzard, the proceeds will go to Children's Miracle Network. I know the one at the Mall in Joplin is participating and the boys and I will be going there tomorrow night sometime to get Blizzards so if you're out and about stop by a Dairy Queen and give to CMN. They have helped us out so much and we are so grateful for all that they have done for Damon and so many other kids around the US.

Damon is doing fine. Jeremy is gone this week to Florida on a business trip so we are all by ourselves, but we are ok. Our days have pretty much been just like normal and the nights go by pretty quickly. I have a cold so all of us have been going to bed early so that I can go to bed early. But we all miss Dad pretty badly and can't wait to see him on Saturday. Pray that he gets home safely. Talk to you later.

One year ago today...

It was my birthday. (Which means it is my birthday today too. :) The previous three days last year were horrible. But when I got to work on my birthday last year my boss was there and she gave me a card from the bank and inside it was some money from the assistance fund that we really needed. I got two birthday cakes and it turned out to be a really great day.

I expect no less of today, although Damon hasn't been feeling very good since yesterday. His nose has been running a lot so maybe he's teething. He doesn't show any other signs of a cold so I'm just waiting to see what developes. I hate it when he doesn't feel good. He is very clingy and doesn't want me to be out of his site, which doesn't allow me to get very much done. But I'm taking a break from all that work today anyway, so maybe I'll just hold him all day.

This morning when I woke up, Myles was in my bed and he was already awake and I asked him if he was going to sing to me. He asked why and I said "Do you know what day it is?" "Tuesday," he says. "No, it's Wednesday," I said. "So what should I sing?" he asked. I said "sing the Wednesday song." So he starts singing "Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday." It was so cute. Talk to you all later.
