I'll say it again

Ok, right now I'm not "saying" anything, but when you read this you can imagine me talking if you want to. I'M SICK OF BEING SICK!!! I mentioned on Sunday night that I lost my voice comepletely and as of right now I still can't find it anywhere. I was reading on webmd.com what to do to find it again and they said that whispering was worse for your voice than trying to go ahead and talk and right now whispering is all I can do. I'm trying to keep quiet as much as possible but when Myles wants an answer to something he won't quit until he gets one so I am having to whisper to him.

Jeremy made it to North Carolina and he has a 3 hour layover, then he'll fly to Charlotte, Virginia and drive to Waynesboro. So please pray for his safe travel all week and pray for the boys and I while he's gone.

Damon started crawling on his hands and feet yesterday, like a bear. It looks so funny, and sometimes he will put his head down while he is like that, like he's trying to stand on his head. He's really quite a riot. Also, thanks be to God yesterday afternoon. Myles was running to the front door to meet his daddy and he fell down the step somehow and hit his noggin really hard on the door frame. He got a dark purple line immediately and a big ol' goose egg on his forehead. He came very close to cutting his head wide open again (he did it when he was two) and needing stitches. So we are thankful that God spared him from that trama. I usually end these with "talk to you all later" but today I'll say "talk to you all when I can talk again." Haha

Sick of sick

Well my request was that if I was going to get sick that it would happen this week and not next and I definetly got what I asked for. I've been miserable all week long with terrible body/head aches and a runny nose and this cough that is really painful. The body aches have gone away but I still have the head aches some, and the cough has made me loose my voice. It comes and goes but mostly it's just a whisper. So pray for me please.

Damon is feeling better, his last day of antibiotics is tomorrow. Myles still hasn't shown any signs of getting it and Jeremy's only thing has been a sore throat but it's getting better.

Yesterday was Jeremy's birthday and I neglected to get on here and wish him a happy one. We did get to have dinner at the place he chose and then we came home and he opened his presents and we all had some birthday cake. We got him a cd he wanted and we all had fun dancing around to the music. It was a fun night. He is leaving on Monday for another trip for work. This time he's going to Waynesboro, VA. We will miss him while he's gone!
Talk to you all later.

Update on Allie

Allie's surgery went well. They did the procedure they were planning and she also had some kind of hurnia (sp??) so they repaired that as well. When I talked to her grandma she said they were going to try to feed her some liquids to see how she did. I haven't heard how that went but if everything was ok they are supposed to be coming home sometime today. Please continue to pray for her recovery and that they will get home safely.

Damon has this cold that has been hanging on and it got worse over the last few days so we took him in to see the dr yesterday and he has an ear infection. He's on antibiotics and some eye drops (argggggg, that's a nightmare!). Please pray that he is healed completely from this cold and his sats will stay where they need to be. There is a little boy with HLHS who lives in Michigan. He's had a cold with a nasty cough for a few weeks and he's in the hospital because he's so dehydrated and his sats are too low. Colds for these little guys are so much more serious than for anyone else. His name is Elijah, please say a prayer for him too.

One last thing. I'm starting to feel the signs of a cold coming on, my face is aching and my body is too. If I am going to get a cold, please pray that it shows up this week. Next week Jeremy is going on a business trip and I don't want the cold to come while he's gone. That's what happened to me last time he was away and it was miserable. So there's a lot to pray for around here. Talk to you all later.

Pray for Allie

We mentioned Allie a few posts ago. She has had trouble keeping her food down since she was born in late summer. She has had trouble gaining and keeping on weight because of this and her bout with the flu she just had set her back a little. Since she's so small, she can't afford to loose any weight at all so her drs have decided to do a surgery on her that will prevent her from being able to spit up or throw up anymore, allowing her to keep her food down and grow bigger. They wanted to do this surgery a few months ago but her mom and dad wanted to give her a chance to make it on her own and she did ok until she got this flu.

Allie will be having her surgery early Monday morning. I know most of you will not read this until it's over but please pray for her and her mom and dad anyway. Pray that her recovery will go well and she can come home on Tuesday and pray that she will not get an infection. Pray also that she doesn't have bloating or gas build up in her belly, which is a side affect in some kids. Pray for her mom and dad to give all their fears to God and for them to have peace that they made the right decision for her. God has been watching out for her and her family and they have shown such great faith in Him. We know He will be right there with her tomorrow, guiding the surgeon's hands. Talk to you all later.

Sarah
P.S. Happy Birthday to my brother Hank, he turned 18 today. Myles and Damon both love their uncle Hank a lot!

Baby Allie

We all need to be in prayer today for baby Allie. We have mentioned her on here before. She has had trouble gaining weight and keeping it on. Allie had recently got the flu and starting vomiting and hasn't been able to keep anything down. Her parents Shane & Tiffany are going to Kansas City to Children's Mercy to talk to her doctor about doing surgery to correct the problem. They are all pretty scared about all of this and we can definitely say that we have 'been there and done that'. Just pray that the doctors will make the right decisions not just for the present day, but for her future too. We will keep you updated as we hear details.

Shot

Yesterday Damon got his second round of RSV shots. He did pretty well, but he did not like that nurse touching him for any reason and he kept an eye on her the whole time she was here. He weighed 18lbs 13oz so he had a growth spurt this last month, gaining almost a pound (despite being sick, which goes to show you how well prayer works, thank you Jesus). Once again I had to reassure the nurse that 81% was fine for his O2 sats. It still makes me shake my head that they don't know that. Oh well. Talk to you soon.

Damon Love Our New Carpet

Here is Damon's latest picture laying on our new carpet. We are so happy to have our carpet down. For those of you that know what a major ordeal it has been, it is finally in and we can start moving our stuff back in. Anyway just wanted to share this picture of Damon. Also wanted to let you know that we entered this picture in Regis & Kelly's Beautiful Baby Contest. Just thought it would be fun to see if we could win. We will keep you posted.

PLEASE PRAY!!!!!

I don't want to alarm you, Damon is fine. Just wanted you to pray for my bosses dad, his name is Scott Younke. He is in the hospital fighting for his life. He has had a lot of health problems in the past couple of months and then earlier this week he had to be rushed to the hospital in Texas for an infection. The doctors didn't expect him to make it through the night. Let's pray really hard for this one. I know he is special to my boss, as well as special to God. I know God does miracles. He did one in Damon's life and we are praying for one in Scott's life.

Thanks in advance for the prayers,
Jeremy

Thanks

Someone "annonymous" posted a comment that they are still reading this blog. Who are you? We'd love to know you because you might be the only person out there....haha. Regardless, thank you for still keeping up with us.

Tonight Myles and I made rice crispy treats with sprinkles. Damon loves those and after he ate dinner we gave him one. It was so funny because he got a handful in each hand and closed his little hands around it and then couldn't open his hands because they were so sticky. He got so mad! It's so fun to watch him doing new things, and to see him smile with all those teeth. He is funny too. He will do things sometimes and then crack up at himself. (He also has quite a temper.) He's learning to feed himself with a spoon and getting closer to walking everyday.

I ask that you say a prayer for me. I'd rather not mention specifically what for, but God knows and your prayers will get through to Him. Talk to you all later.

If it's not one thing

it's something else right? The boys had a flu bug or something around Christmas and their over that now, but I am getting a cold and now I think Myles is getting it. I don't want to go back to the way we were living last year (not taking Damon out in public at all, except to the dr and to visit family if they weren't sick) but it might come to that. That really was challenging and now it would be even more so because Jeremy doesn't get home until 6pm every day. So please pray God's protection from sickness over our family. And remember all our other "heart family" in your prayers too: Hayden, Cade, Braeden, Dalton, and Elijah (he's been having some problems with a bad cough and the drs are trying to figure out how to get rid of it. He is also coming up on this 3rd surgery in the springtime.) Talk to you all later.

Happy New Year to you!

We had a fun New Year's Eve. Our friends and their kids came over and we ate junk food and played games. We actually were awake when the clock struck midnight but went to sleep about 30 seconds later. We're not too exciting, but what can you expect with two little kids that are going to be up at 8am.

The boys are finally over whatever it was they had last week. Myles ended up getting it too, but only for half a day. Thanks for your prayers for Damon. I can't believe that 2007 is over. It has been a long year that has gone by so quickly. So much happened with Damon that I wish we could have avoided but I thank God for the lessons we learned through all of it and for bringing us closer to Him. I can't believe that this year we could be looking at another surgery. We don't know that for sure but it's a possibility. I'm praying that it can be put off until the spring/summer of 2009 but only God has control over that. We just thank Him that He will be with us no matter what happens. We hope you all had safe nights and a great year ahead of you. Talk to you soon.
